This is the first post on this blog which will be dedicated to the topic of video advertising on the Internet. The blog will cover related topics, such as popular trends, business models, and a survey of video for Internet landscape. It must include discussion about the various web 2.0 technologies such as RSS, Google Reader, Technorati, Six Pixels, Google Analytics, Del.icio.us, Twitter, Blogger, Linkedin, and Facebook.
It will highlight some of what I consider to be the most interesting uses of video on the Internet.
Design and communication strategies will also be a topic of this blog. For example, this outline for the basics of presentation came from a podcast given by Garr Reynolds' of Presentation Zen and Mitch Joel of the award-winning Digital Marketing agency Twist Image.
1. Begin a presentation by going analog - get away from computer, use analog (whiteboard, paper, etc) and think about the problem. Sketch and make notes.
2. Identify the core idea, the what and the so-what. Why, what does it mean. Is is really necessary to support the core point? Ask yourself, "What will they remember?".
3. Design aspect: remove the extraneous, add the meaningful. Is it really necessary visually to support what you are talking about?
4. Make it visual. Video, interviews, stills, drawings. Don't make it lame visually. No clip art, of course.
5. Deliver with passion.
